Fed up of the rat race and pressures of corporate life?

We are looking for a part time Trademark Attorney (including part qualified)/Paralegal (minimum of 2 days a week)

 

So - a little bit about us

       We are a small company based in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The rural setting is beautiful, with plenty of space for parking and to walk and take some time out during breaks. Dress code is casual unless we are meeting clients. We provide tea, coffee and soft drinks and celebrate everybody's birthday with cakes and bubbles. There are a number of cafes and eateries not too far away and we also have our own courtyard for sunny days. 

       The hours of work are flexible and on occasions working from home might be an option.

       The job offers varied and rewarding client facing work which requires a hands-on approach. The reason we are recruiting is simply because we are so busy and the more trademarks we file, the more contentious work we are asked to deal with - we are ranked 3rd in the UK for the number of filings in the last CITMA and Reuters statistics.

       On occasions we have our dogs in the office - well, somebody has to be in charge. 


Responsibilities:

·         Trademark client management and seeking new work from existing clients;

·         Advising on new trademarks, including specifications for new filings;

·         Exam reports;

·         Contentious work to include objections to trademarks, oppositions, revocations and cancellations; 

·         Advising on trademarks abroad including filing either nationally or via Madrid System;

·         Liaising with associates regarding filings and ongoing work.

 

The successful candidate will have:

·         Good interpersonal skills;

·         Good knowledge of UK, EU and WIPO systems;

·         Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook;

·         Good level of both spoken and written English;

·         Excellent attention to detail;

·         A proactive attitude and methodical work process;

·         Experience in an equivalent position and be a team player.

Remuneration and Benefits:

·         Salary dependant on qualification and experience;

·         Pro-rata 20 days annual holiday, plus statutory holidays;

·         Prospects for advancement in the business are excellent for the right candidate.

Intern, full or part time post

 

The successful candidate will work alongside the professionals in the company, assisting with:

·         Website maintenance and testing;

·         Twitter and social media posts;

·         Writing copy for company website;

·         Creating and sending marketing campaigns – mail shots, newsletters etc; 

·         Administration associated with trademark filings;

·         Sending customers review requests for website;

·         Preparing for exhibitions. 

 

The successful candidate will have:

·         Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint;

·         Good level of both spoken and written English;

·         Excellent attention to detail;

·         A proactive attitude and methodical work process;

·         Own transport essential.

 

Remuneration and Benefits:

·         The post is salaried at £8.75 per hour;

·         Part or full time post for initial fixed term with possibility of full time employment.
